An unfortunate sturgeon, which washed ashore as a fairly intact skeleton, made an interesting foreground for a night sky shot. This is a composite of a 20-second exposure of the Milky Way and a 2-second exposure of the foreground.

Curious Puffins
A windy day in Elliston, Newfoundland where thousands of puffins gather on land and walk amongst visitors. Be careful not to trip over their dens (which are burroughs in the ground) because not only are there pufflings in them, but if you trip on one that is too close to the ledge then you'll fall 14m into the ocean.
July is also considered peak season for Atlantic Puffins. The puffins come to Canada's east coast in the hundreds of thousands during this time to birth their pufflings.
