Description
West of Bragg Creek, Alberta, in Kananaskis Country, there is a wonderful area for picnicking, hiking or just sitting and taking in the beauty of the surroundings. It's called Forgetmenot Pond. It features a small man-made, emerald green lake, just west of the Elbow Falls, and east of Forgetmenot Mountain. The image I've posted shows a portion of the pond looking east.
Directions from Spruce Meadows in SW Calgary to Forgetmenot Pond:
* West on Spruce Meadows Trail (Hwy 22X) for 14.6 km
* Continue straight on Cowboy Trail (Hwy 22N) for 19.6 km – signs for Bragg Creek
* Continue onto Hwy 66W (may be seasonally closed) for 27.5 km
* Left just before the pavement stops, and go 1.2 km
* Left at 1st opportunity, to Forgetmenot Pond (50°47'52"N 114°50'50"W).
