This image was captured just before midnight during a fast-moving Saturday night storm in Gander, Newfoundland. I had been tracking the storm and set up near a calm body of water, hoping for a clean lightning strike. When the bolt finally hit, it lit up the entire sky in a surreal electric blue. I used my Nikon D610 and timed the exposure to freeze that instant.
