Description
On a recent trip to Kelowna, BC, I had time to waste before an appointment so grabbed the camera and drove into the hills. I stopped to watch a couple of doves and ended up flushing a covey of California Quails which dove for cover. I sat motionless and after they realized I meant no harm, they started emerging from the underbrush and foraging for food. I adore their cute topknots!! Apparently the topknots are formed by 6 feathers, but emerge as a cluster and with an appearance of one feather.
