Terrific composition Yves. Indeed this is fun and interesting shot. The mergansers body is quite camouflaged against the rocks. This must have been a great spot for fishing, cool how they are all bobbing at the same time.

Thank you for the nice comment Debra. For the first time this season I introduce a different way in my photography strategy. Instead of walking and clicking I stay on one site for a long period to learn how birds live their day to day life. I was not disapointed so far.

This photo is really unique and interesting, I've never seen one like it before. I love how you caught them fishing in unison here and the contrasting detail of the rocky shoreline, mergansers and water are beautifully captured here. Awesome shot, Yves!

Nice job, Yves. I love the feel of the photo....you can almost smell the water.

Thank you Jane. I was very surprise to see them patroling head down like that.

Description
A group of common mergansers fishing the Magog river gave me some pretty nice shots. Here they patrol moving forward in a slow pace looking into the water for a pretty long time. It make for a very special picture.
