Wow, what a cool shot Yves, I can imagine the fun you had. Do you think the heron was in pursuit of the blackbird? Very nice interesting environmental shot with loads of texture. Well done Yves.

Yves Langlois

Thank you Debra. The heron would not pursuit for an hangry reason but for the fun of it, for few seconds, who knows. We are living in a world of possible ways. Even the impossible has it chance to be. The opposite is more common though. The blackbird pursuing a heron that comes too close to the nest.

That's a really nice flight and wing shot of the heron and the blackie too. I like the tones and textures the birds on the water add to the view and how eloquent the heron looks as he takes flight. Very nicely captured Yves.

Yves Langlois

Thank you Heather. The blue heron is a big bird and he often surprises me with a nice photo shooting. Not easy to show all its beautyful colours.

Nice one, Yves. Bird in flight photos are not easy but you did very well to get both species. That normally happens to me by accident!!

Yves Langlois

Thank you very much Jane. What you call accidents is what I call gifts from Mother Nature. Accidents do exist but they are more rare.

Description
This great blue heron was standing still in the shallow water nearby. The sun conditions were so good that I decided to do some bird in flight shots. I waited a few minutes then he finaly took off. Out of the many shots that unusual one with a red-winged blackbird doing the same few feets ahead.
