Terrific series of shots with titles that explain it all. You did a very nice job keeping up with the heron and composing the sequence of the landing. This final shot is my favourite, nicely captured Yves.
Thanks Debra. My favorite too. The pause is beautyful of course, but I am always amazed when everything synchronize for a nice shot. The green reflexion is just at the right place behind. The legs could have been in the shadow of the wing, the heron is well lighted and sharp focus.
Very nice one Yves. Great timing on this shot, especially since he came into view unexpectedly. You captured some lovely water tones in the background and detail on the heron making a graceful entrance on the water. He made it look easy in spite of those long legs.
Thank you Heather. Yes, he must have had an extensive training about the use of those long legs. Usualy action shots are stressful because It goes too fast for me to follow. I remember that for that heron's three shots I was very calm, delighted by the beauty of the scene and feels the action was going kind of slow motion.
Thank you very much Clifford. I am quite proud of it because those three shots were done the same way as your pellican. I was checking the river bank on the opposite side for ospreys when that heron suddenly appeared in front of me, gliding from the right. Reflexes kiked in., I aimed and shot. Quite satisfied of the result..
