Description
Another from the kayak...these are relatively common in Eastern Ontario, where this was seen and photographed, along the Tay River outside of Perth, Ontario. A snag in the river outside the main channel this one perched as I was paddling by so I stopped to watch it watching me 🙂 These are mostly fruit eaters and according to Cornell's "because they eat so much fruit, Cedar Waxwings occasionally become intoxicated or even die when they run across overripe berries that have started to ferment and produce alcohol." Interesting fact! :)
