Thank you Heather. He took me by surprise from a distance I did not notice him at all. I wasn’t sure what I was seeing at first as he was alone, the other gulls were on a rock outcrop further away.

At first I didn’t see the gull he was so still and camouflaged so well. I took a couple of shots and moved on I didn’t want to scare him. Thank you Yves for commenting.

This juvenile seagull with its mottled plumage is nicely camouflaged amongst the rocks along the shores of the Red River at Lockport Manitoba.
