Very nice composition and detail in this shot too Debra. The mergansers look very much at peace here and I like how you caught them peering across at the other ducklings. Well seen and captured.

Thanks Heather, the mergansers like to swim close to the shore. They are extremely quiet so I am sure I missed several opportunities.

Hi Debra: I really like the crop and composition of this shot. The ducks are really the focal point.

Thank you Jenny I was trying to pull them in a little closer but it really didn’t make much difference.

Like very much that picture Debra. Like the framing you choose and the color tones adds a calm scenery mood.

Thx Yves, I just wish I had noticed them when they were approaching instead of rounding the corner.

Description
Late afternoon a female Merganser and her 5 ducklings swan under the dock and along the shoreline. Eventually rounding the corner where she had nested. Three ducklings are up close to mom and two are under a branch dipping their head into the water looking for minnows. My camera was not in close enough reach to get a picture of her approaching.
