Thanks Scott, equatorial mounts are great for long exposures or deep space. This image here is a single 30 second exposure with a standard tripod, no eq mount used here. :)

Fabulous sky Wesley. I keep thinking about getting an equatorial tripod mount. Seeing great skys is always inspiring.

Description
One thing I love about dark skies is the amount of stars you can see. While out photographing the stars the other night I had a friend come out who has never seen been to a true dark sky and his reaction after stepping out of the car was awesome. To look up and see some many stars is a blessing as light pollution is really taking over many of the areas. My favorite place to sit and view the stars is Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada. Here there are no street lights and the vastness that is above us is incredible! For this image I stepped out of the car, looked down the road and snapped this quick image. This is a single exposure and in this photo you can see Jupiter, Orion, the winter part of the Milky Way, Taurus, Pleiades star cluster and so many more stars! :D Nothing better than a beautiful night out under the stars.
