Description
Legend has it that white men from Europe on a tall ship days have thrown the anchor in a cove not far from the island platform facing the Pointe-Saint-Pierre. As they were on the shore, to obtain fresh water and wild fruits, they saw a young Indian princess occupied in the forest to entertain young children. Men from elsewhere captured her and brought in their distant land. This sad face, whose eyes are glued to the cliff, is that her lover who tirelessly awaits his return, determined in his grief to turn their backs to the sea as it will not bring back his beloved him.
