Description
These images are truly my absolute favourite from my recent expedition up the Hudson Bay!
What makes Churchill and the area surrounding it so incredibly important and desirable is the spectacular collision of ecosystems.
In these images you see ALL four of them at once:
- Arctic Ocean
- Arctic Air/Skies
- Arctic Tundra
- Boreal Forest
Then, drop into the middle of each frame, the world's largest land apex predator, the polar bear and we have imagery that screams THIS IS HOW AWESOME this planet is. That tell a story within the story of a story!
These will be the centerpiece for my Arctic Frontiers: Life at the Edge of a Changing World project (includes a book, speaking, gallery tours, etc,). They are quintessential Churchill, Manitoba sub-arctic imagery that also showcases the urgency of this warming climate.
