Description
Polar bears are the largest land predator on Earth, and seeing one in the wild? I mean talk about an experience. But getting up close, eye to eye in their world, out on the tundra, near the boreal forest, or by the edge of the Arctic Ocean, while they await its freeze? That’s something else entirely and something I am privileged of saying I have experienced it! This was a lifelong dream come true for me. Every second I spent with them, I was torn between soaking it in and lifting the camera. What you see here isn’t just a series of images, it’s a story. A story of strength and survival, of change and challenge. It’s about the beauty and the heartbreak of what’s happening up North. This series carries pieces of my heart and the bears’ world, one that’s warming fast and needs our attention. It’s my way of inviting you into their story. They captured my heart and it is why I am heading back up there to capture more imagery and film for a documentary titled, "Arctic Frontiers: Life at the Edge of a Changing World." One of awe. One of urgency. One that’s far from over.
