I was out birding when I came across a herd of 60 Wapiti. I stood for an hour waiting for them to come closer so that I could take some photos. They were very aware of my presence and every time the wind gusted (I was up-wind) they would raise their heads to take in my location. Slowly but surely they grazed in my direction and I managed a few photos before a farmer started machinery in the next field. Their tolerance for human presence ended with the noisy machinery and they wandered away into the neighboring forest.
