Description
A female Northern Red Cardinal feeds her baby on a fence of a private backyard in Ottawa's Riverside South while the male cardinal watches on. Mom and dad were teaching baby how to feed from a bird feeder. When baby wasn't catching on, however, mom gave up and ended up feeding the baby, hoping that next time would be the time baby cardinal will figure out how to feed from a bird feeder.
Photo taken Summer 2024.
Note: The photo was taken in the summer, but the couple has been calling the backyard home for over a year, all year round. Babies have since become juveniles and will visit and feed from the feeder with their parents. There are two males and one female juveniles.
