That looks to be a very challenging swim for the little tykes. However, the choppy water sure adds to the composition and the story. Wonderful looking family and I am sure the mother duck will have a few more challenges in line for them.

Thank you for the appreciated comments Debra.

Can't help feeling bad for the young duckies here, this had to be tough going for them. You captured the choppy waters so well here and the colour is really beautiful. Well done.

Thank you very much Heather. One of those beautyful moments in my photo safaryies.

Thanks for the nice comments Jane. Since I discovered the changing beautyness of water surfaces it amazes me everytime.

Great shot and story. I love the movement in the water.

Description
Usualy those cute family journey close to the shore to paddle in calm water. In that case the trip close to the shore would have take much time because it was a large bay. Still I was surprise that the mother decided to go straight into the very windy part of the lake. I am pretty sure that some of those little ones were not happy of the decision but the photo shows a tight pack of ducklings proud to show mom they are not babies any more.
