Description
The nests are safely located on an island on the Ottawa River. I have to try different accesses to the rocky bank of the river in order to find a vantage point for the best view of the nests that can be hidden by the foliage of surrounding trees. Best time is morning when sunlight shines directly on the trees and reflects against the white plumage of the birds. Four restless chicks crowded in the nest, stretching their wings are like a flurry of white sails against the dark green foliage.
