Description
These photos were taken in the ghost town of Kitsault in British Columbia. We had to stop in Kitsault on the way back from another ghost town of Anyox, BC. We were parking the boat when one of us spotted a black bear way up in a tree. It was casing a ruckus climbing and breaking branches and looking for more of the green sticky berries it was feasting on The bear was high enough in the tree, and we were close enough to the truck that I was comfortable getting closer to the tree in an attempt to get some good-quality photos with my new telephoto lens. I bought that lens specifically for this trip, for this reason. I snapped like a madman, battling with the constantly moving bear and the leaves and branches that were obstructing my view. Time and patience paid off as I came away with some great photos of the bear as it reached for and searched for more of these sticky berries, we even made eye contact for one!
