This web stands out beautifully in the sunlight against the soft background. I wonder if the funnel shape at the bottom was the starting point of the web, it looks like a really good spot for the spider to hide too. This is such a well captured image, Yves, and it tells an interesting story.

Thank you very much Heather. If ever I come to see a spider starting its web I would sure like to film the making of.

Cool shot Yves. Spider webs are always so delicate that when highlighted by moisture, frost or just great lighting they really stand out as a piece of art. I love how bright the web appears against the background. Beautiful shape as well really makes the mind wander. Nice story and capture.

Thanks Debra. When conditions are right I never miss the opportunity to capture a spider web. I love to analyse the how they attach it to the surrounding branches. The background colour tone help a lot to hilight the web.

Description
Not so often that conditions of shooting are good enough to highlight so beautyfuly a spider web. It was nice that it is a special one too(not the reguler round shape one). The funnel shape at the base might be the place where the spider wait for a prey. The big damage on the left tels me an hungry bird may have come and pick the spider for its meal.
