Beautiful family shot Heather, it tugs at the heart strings. I am glad that you were able to get them all into the frame and the marsh backdrop makes for a perfect composition. Great focus on the family with nice vivid colours.

Thank you so much Debra. It felt so good to see them and that they were all doing so well too. They have a lot of people taking an avid interest in their welfare. I felt really fortunate to get a few photos before they disappeared back to the nesting site for a rest. The cygnets looked ready for one too judging by a few photos I got of them about to nod off.

Very beautyful scenery with the swan family. You got very bright colors. The blue and black is perfect to highlight the white swans and the focus is spot on. Well done Heather.

Thank you very much Yves. The blue sky reflected beautifully on that part of the lake even though it was windy and the water was choppy. The swans were moving fast and not in their usual formation as they headed back to the nesting site. I noticed in several frames that some of the cygnets had their eyes closed and were looking sleepy after what had probably been a long day for them. They disappeared shortly after I got this shot.

Description
It was hard to believe how quickly the six cygnets had grown and how large they had gotten. I finally managed to get a few photos of them all together from across the lake that day and after striking out on seeing them several times it was great just to see them again. Getting all of them together in a photo is a challenge since there's one cygnet who likes to hang out by himself behind the others.
