Birds & Bison

Description
I hiked about 15 km to get a shot like this and it was completely worth it. Seeing how the bison and birds interact and how they help each other really shows the importance of mutualism in the wild. The birds get food (bugs) from the bison, and the bison benefits by having less irritants on its skin. I was about to put my camera away, but then I noticed a group of birds one by one flying onto the bison. I had to pull out my camera again and get the shot. The birds must have been photogenic too, because they’re nicely spaced out for the photo. Taken with a Telephoto lens and cropped. Safe distance was maintained between me and the bison.
