Description
Great grey owls seem very 'royal' to me. They are large owls and often tolerant of humans. I photographed this particular owl in the spring of last year. It was paying close attention to a bald eagle high above. Sadly a few months after I captured the image, a huge forest fire swept through and destroyed the owl's habitat. Far too many species of wildlife are facing enormous losses in habitat through human development and natural disasters.
