The floater is a dead leaf- I waited and waited for a big red leaf to show up, but it seems to only trees upstream that were shedding leaves were only dropping small brown ones. Maybe next time!

Description
This every changing spot is within a short walk from our front door. I visit it often, and at this time of year when the foliage changes daily, it is always surprising to see the day-to-day differences in colours, highlights and shadows.
