Description
This is a male Scarlett Tanager that I finally discovered yesterday near Perth Ontario. I have been making early morning and late afternoon visits to a spot that I go to and searching for one of these for the last week and a half. I couldnt believe my eyes when this handsome male appeared yesterday morning on a tree across a creek that I was standing near. Better still, it flew across the river and perched eye level . I really do sometimes think I have a Guardian Angel or two sitting on my shoulder! Handsome isnt he! These birds are long distance migrants and come this far north from as far south as South America to breed. Aren't WE LUCKY to have the opportunity to see these from time to time!
