Description
This tiny owl has eyes wide open and sitting on a kill. We discovered this little beauty sleeping at a cache we decided, sitting on a vole or field mouse. We watched it as a bunch of chick-a-dees and a white breasted Nuthatch buzzed it and made such a commotion that the owl woke from its sleep long enough to look around and then go back to sleep! We moved on shortly after taking this mage and left it be. What a wonderful experience seeing this little cutie on such a nice, mostly unobstructed perch.
