Description
"Highway to Hail" Taken near Golden Prairie Saskatchewan on Tuesday.
This week Saskatchewan had 2 tornado days back to back, with 9 tornadoes officially recorded so far. 3 on Monday and 6 on Tuesday, no injuries.
This shot was taken 18 minutes after the first report of the first Tornado of the day.
The storm was moving at 70 kph so we did not have a lot of opportunities to stop for pictures with this dangerous storm on our tails.
Many power poles were snapped off at the intersection of the 21 highway just 3 km (2 miles) from where this shot was taken. Radar estimated the winds in that area at 120 kph. The enhanced fujita scale used to assess wind strength uses broken power poles as an indication of winds of 145 - 195 kph.
