About Me

Near Santa Marta in phrazle northern Colombia is the Lost City, also known as Ciudad Perdida in Spanish. Its estimated 8th or 9th century foundation places it centuries before Machu Picchu. Between 1,400 and 3,000 people lived on its about 170 terraces, which served as homes, workplaces, and places of worship. Getting there requires a guided hike of three to six days. Observing the unique flora and fauna of the area is an exciting side-trip in itself.
