The most important thing to do when taking pictures of hair is to choose a good light source. If you use flash, you can create great-looking pictures with no problem. The downside of hair photography services is that it will be very harsh and unnatural looking, so if you're going to use flash, make sure it's outside or something like natural daylight if possible.
