This owl has clearly been baited. That makes this photo the opposite of nature photography. Not only that, but the practice of baiting owls puts the birds in great danger due to them becoming "tame." Many of these baited owls end up as roadkill as a consequence. The photographer should be ashamed of herself, and it's highly disturbing that Canadian Geographic would publish a photo that is clearly taken at the expense of this beautiful animal's wellbeing.
