A Great Horned Owl owlet sits in a pine tree, tucked away behind a bush of pine needles. The baby owl wasn't alone -- mom was not far aware, always at a nearby tree keeping a watchful eye while hunting for food she would later share with her baby. Great Horned Owl babies grow fast and furious, gaining nearly 2 lbs. in their first month of life.
