Description
One of the most dismissed birds in the wetland ecosystem. The coot brings life and action to these shallow shallow shores and fills a critical maintenance role by consuming algae and other vegetation. These numerous and hardy birds also make easy prey providing cover for the more delicate wetland inhabitants.
