Description
I don't edit in black and white with any of my photos, but I felt this one was more powerful with no colour in it. You can really see the detail in this juvenile eagles beak and the intense stare it was giving. I really lucked out with this eagle. I was standing in an opening, looking at all the shorebirds, when this eagle was flying in low, making some noise. I assumed it was going to land in a tree not far behind me, but instead, it landed on a log around 15ft in front of me! What felt like time stood still, was only a couple of minutes, but I was so grateful that it chose to land where it did. I don't think it knew I was standing there, and I was just over the moon to spend a couple minutes with this amazing raptor.
