Description
Out on the waters of James Bay, I came across this bearded seal... thick-whiskered, silent, and watchful. Though more commonly associated with Arctic regions, these seals can be found in the southern reaches of Hudson Bay and James Bay. Their distinctive whiskers help them detect prey like clams and bottom-dwelling fish in the murky depths. A rare and humbling sight.
