Description
We were taking our dogs to the lake and when we were slowing down before the lake, I spotted a grouse sitting on top of a rock in a sea of blooming knapweed. We didn't stop at that time, but on the way back, she was still sitting there, so we pulled over, I got out of the truck and snuck over to the ditch. At first, she wasn't moving, and I honestly thought someone was playing a joke and had a stuffed grouse posed perfectly within the knapweed. After a couple of minutes go by, she moved her head, and I let out a sigh of relief! I snapped a few more photos, and walked back to the truck, she was still sitting there and preening her feathers by the time we left.
