Description
Snowy Owls have been very hard to find in passing years, so imagine my delight when we finally came across one. It was the coldest day of the year so far, about -40 with wind chill. The snow was blowing so hard that we almost turned around and went home - until we spotted a solitary owl in a field. We followed it as it flew around a bit and was suddenly joined by another. They swooped at each other and I aimed my camera through the snowstorm in desperation, and wasn't sure if I had managed to capture anything until I got home. This photo now hangs on my wall!
