Thanks Dennis. For a third party lens the Tamron does a good job. I am sure it has some drawbacks compared to its comparable Canon, but I find it decent enough.
This is one of four, Belted Kingfishers I have had the pleasure of observing this summer. They have taken a real liking to a new log jam along the Speed River here, in Cambridge Ontario. I am hoping the log stays put for awhile, and the Kingfishers stay around well into autumn.
