Terrific close up with so much detail. Very interesting and what a tough shot to achieve. Nicely captured.

Thanks Debra. Once in a while I like to try some unusual shot and those big lens we use are pretty good at it.

Heather Mellon

Very good close-up shot with great detail, Yves. The placement of the eyes is intriguing and since the colours are so vibrant I'll hazard a guess it's a red admiral.

Yves Langlois

Thanks Heather. Macro shots are like water surfaces, a domain that allows us to see nature in a way naked eyes can't. The white daisy puts a nice contrast here.

Jane LeBlanc

Very cool close up, Yves. I think you are right on the species, but I wouldn't venture a guess as to which it is. Well done.

Yves Langlois

Thank you very much Jane.

Description
May be a painted lady or a red admiral. Close up on the feeding operation of the butterfly. Insects normaly have six legs. Interesting to notice that the butterfly uses the two front legs to control the proboscis so he stand on 4 legs only. Notice the very special eyeball too.
