I agree Yves, the soft pastel background is very striking. Was there a bit of morning dew or fog that created the mood. He does look deep in thought. Wonderful capture.

I love it! As you say, moody, but sure makes the bird the star. You got the catch light in the eye again, too.

The bird look kind of human, lost in its thoughts. The mood might also be du to the slightly overexposure (kind of a white curtains in front). Love the backdrop colour too.
