A very important moment in the life of these birds. So glad you had the opportunity to capture the moment. A nice action shot with beautyful colours. I love those birds too. They are easy to find and make nice picture.

Thank you so much Yves. You're right about it being a very important moment for them, it's such a daunting task to face so early in their lives. He did very well and it appears the other fledglings did too.

Nice opportunity to get some awesome shots and experience this new adventure for this little one. Nice composition

Thank you so much Clifford. I enjoy having the Kingbirds nest in the yard each year. They're interesting birds to watch and great singers too.

That certainly would have been an exciting and memorable moment to witness. The perched Kingbird definitely has something to say. The opening in the branches frames them nicely against the vivid blue sky. You caught the moment perfectly.

Thank you so much Debra. This little guy had lots of moral support judging by the sounds coming from the other bird who I presume was one of the adults. They're such a pleasure to have around and sing beautifully.

Description
There was a lot of bird chatter going on down from the trees where I was standing with my camera so I focused in on the branch where I had spotted two Eastern Kingbirds. While I was taking photos this young fledgling took what appeared to be its first attempt to fly and landed successfully in a nearby tree I believe. I felt pretty fortunate to have been there at the right time to capture the moment. Just above them is the nest and what appeared to be two more nestlings who will soon be ready to try their luck.
