Nice angle on this capture Yves and I like how he's framed by the branches here against that clear blue sky. Your patience in getting this shot paid off with a great pose too.

Yves Langlois

Thank you very much Heather. I was lucky. The bird was moving. Sometime looking left, sometime right. That one had a good framing.

Jane LeBlanc

Great job with the cropping and composition, Yves. I always say...if photographing birds was easy, everyone would do it!

Yves Langlois

Your dam right Jane. The subject is sometime in the wrong place at a bad moment. The chalenge then is to make an acceptable picture with some talent in the post edition.

Debra Plett

Nice job framing the heron Yves. Must have been tough to be quiet enough not to scare the heron getting the angle you wanted. Very nice shot.

Yves Langlois

Thanks Debra. Tel you - no way I could have scared the heron from the far distance I was. Check tomorrow morning on the site, I will post the original just for you to see.

Debra Plett

Thx will watch for it.

Description
From very far on the trail I noticed a black spot in the highest branches of a very tall tree. I walked just a little more, always keeping a side view shot. I didn't want a shot from under the bird. Then I have no choice than shooting a little black thing on a branch of a tall tree and rely on a heavy croping to complete the job.
