Thanks Clifford, the buck stopped for a split second and sniff where the doe left her scent. I literally had seconds to get this shots with his head up before he bolted into the bush.
Super shot Debra. Sure a front page of a specialised magazine. The special color tone of the forest in the back fit very well the proud look of that King buck. Thanks for the story too. The zoom option shows it with the perfect lighting to keep the mood of the picture.
Thank you very much Yves for your kind comments. The brush and trees are mostly small burr oak trees. I will be sad when the rut is over it is such a great time of year to photograph the white-tail deer in Birds Hill Park.
