I always love their haughty expression....like they just can't be bothered with us!! Great capture, Debra.

My thoughts exactly Jane. Thanks for your comment.

You caught the guy on a very nice pose. Impressive bird. Always a pleasure to have some shots on him but I have not seen many this summer.

We have some bald eagles that hang around all winter. You can usually spot them if a deer has been killed along the hwy. Not a nice situation but always nice to catch them up in a tree. Thanks Yves.

Heather Mellon

I love the pose you caught here and how the feathers are ruffled up a little making the eagle look even more imposing looking. Very nice focus and detail.. the snowflakes add that perfect finishing touch to this beautiful capture Debra.

Thanks very much Heather. I think he may have been feeding on the deer and was chased off by the ravens. Very powerful and stand-offish looking pose.

Description
On our way to the park we spotted quite a few ravens in the ditch flying around a recently killed white-tailed deer. We then spotted this bald eagle watching over the situation from the other side of the highway. The eagle was waiting for an opportunity to swoop in and take over.
