This shot is a real beauty Debra. and it sounds like this one is preparing for the winter months that are to come. Great colors and detail.

Debra Plett

Thanks Clifford appreciate the feedback. Yes it seems like all the birds are busy getting ready for winter. Hopefully not till November/December though.

Great capture! I just found a spot where I can watch them pre-winter. Only ever been able to see them during the winter months here in Ontario.

Debra Plett

Thank you Scott, we have some spruce trees along the side of our yard. About 5 years ago I set up a nesting box for the chick-a-dee’s and they use it every spring now.

Heather Mellon

Gorgeous capture of this busy little guy Debra. He stands out beautifully here framed by the luminous greens of the pine and plants in the background. Love that pose too..

Debra Plett

Thank you very much Heather always appreciate your feedback. These little guys can be quite animated and a joy to watch.

Debra Plett

Thank you Yves for the kind comments. These little birds are so active right now eating and hiding food. I just love watching them.

Description
This black capped chick-a-dee spent the better part of an hour plucking seeds out of the mugo pine cones and stashing the seeds in other tree branches. Only to be enjoyed throughout the winter months here in Manitoba.
