Super shot of the egret going about his day Yves. He stands out beautifully here against the greenery and I like the natural pose you caught him in. I can really relate to your comment regarding those 'abnormal white spots'.. that's usually how I locate the swans I love to photograph too. Such a beautiful image.

Thanks Heather. After few years of nature photography I developped an hability to spot the abnormal in a landscape. Some kind of 6th sense.

Terrific capture Yves. The foraging posture of the egret and the crisp white against the soft grasses with a couple of branches breaking into and through the composition…stunning!

Thank you so much Debra. That shot comes with a story. I was looking at the river when I first spoted an abnormal white spot very far. It was too far to identify it and the angle puts one of the branches in front of the subject. The only place I could get closer with a good angle was finding a clear hole through the leaves of big trees. While I was struggling to find a good see through spot the bird had noticed me and started moving nervous. I just had the time to make 3 fast shots then he flew away.

Description
Captured at the covered bridge in Eustis Qc. The overflow of the Massawipi river entertain a little marsh near the bridge. There it was. A big surprise and an exciting encounter. It is one of the birds I was expecting to capture for the last two years.
