Thanks Clifford. Believe me the eye was firm locked on the water near by and nothing could have distracted him. I shot just few seconds before he décided to move for the catch.
Super shot Yves, I love the pose, ruffled wet feathers and the intense stare. It would have been a fun moment watching the Osprey trying to catch the fish. Nicely captured. The osprey nest that I follow is now empty for the fall and winter. they left a couple of days ago as far as I can tell. I am already missing them.
Thanks for the comment Debra. I love that photo because the bird look different than the usual one I have done so far. The angle of shooting force me to be surrounded by trees and bushes that block my view when he moved to catch the fish. A lady whith her two kids playing on the river bank confirm he splach down in the water but did not get the fish.
What an awesome shot Yves. Perfect setting, beautiful crisp detail on his plumage and profile.. and that intrepid look in his eye as he spotted the fish. You caught it all so beautifully here and he almost did a 180 with his head too.
Thank you so much Heather. For the last few years I have done many shots at the ospreys and that one has a quite different look than the usual shots.
