Very nice moment that you capture here Heather. And your narrative is interesting too. Hard to capture in the field, riding in the bushes, never stopping. But they are so cute and I like their song. Appreciate the contrast between the dark green bokeh and the pale bird box. Of course the little guy peeking out is the star.

Thank you Yves. It took a few tries to get this one. They go non stop and it's quite a challenge to photograph them on the move but the beauty of their song more than makes up for that.

Awe what a great shot and narrative Heather. The wren surely does appear to making sure the coast is clear. Wonderful timing and focus on the wren. I love the softness to the bokeh as well. Nicely captured.

Thank you Debra. this is where I get the best view of the wrens, otherwise they're hard to spot so I hid behind the car to get this one. It was hot and very smoky out but well worth the effort.

Description
House Wrens are smart birds and wary too. They need to be considering how small they are in comparison to all the other birds who inhabit their territory which runs the full gamut from friendly warblers and robins to those pesky crows and ravens. I finally caught this little guy surveying the scene before he left the nest.
