You captured a lot of delightful detail in this shot Yves.. not to mention our friend the marmot who stands out very nicely here even though he seems pretty well camouflaged by his surroundings. The rocks make for an artful display here and I much appreciate the history that goes along with this delightful capture.

Thank you for your nice appreciation of the picture. This is the kind of picture that you have to enlarge to appreciate the nice details. I have a great interest in the big birch tree that found a way to grow there

Thanks Clifford. Yes, I gess he knows that the spot is full secure. I was still surprise that he accept to have lots of poeple walking near by and look at him.

I first saw the marmot walking dangerously from the right. It was not easy but he look determine to get there. Was so nice to see him splash down on the rock. You are right, the rock accumulate the heat from the sun. These rocks have been placed there in 1805 at the construction of the GRAND TRUNK RAILROAD to cross the Magog river. It gives the marmot a nice surrounding.

The marmot looks to be thoroughly enjoying the sunshine, I bet that rock is warming up nicely. Nice lighting and environmental composition Yves. A view into the life of a marmot.

This lazy marmot found itself a cosy spot under the sun. Sometime it nap for a moment. Sometime it just watch the crowd of people walking the trail 30 feets of water away.
