Photographed in one of my favorite wetland locations, this image captures the elegance of a Great Egret taking flight in the warm evening light. The setting sun illuminates the bird’s outstretched wings from behind, highlighting each feather in soft, glowing detail. This spot is often alive with the presence of waterfowl—Herons, Egrets, Swans, Ducks, and Geese—but on this particular evening, it was the Egret’s graceful ascent that stole the show
