Very interesting narrative Jenny, hopefully she manages okay with the collar. She looks quite intent on catching that next fish. Great lighting on her.

Beautiful capture of Casper with the rippled reflection and her cubs in the background. Great shot Jenny. She's a beautiful bear and obviously a very successful mother.. I hope this kind of tracking isn't a threat to their future, it's not as if life wasn't already tough enough for them.

Great photo to showing her intense concentration. The collars seem to be a necessary evil..would be nice if they such dropped off after a period of time?

What a great idea. An electronic pulse to disconnect it. My guess is they are probably quite expensive and will be used again. Thanks Clifford

Description
This is Casper, a Grizzly sow about eleven years old. Two Yearling Cubs in the background. Last spring she was trapped in a barrel trap and quickly tranquillized as she had two new Cubs. The Cubs were stressed of course. But the powers that be want to track her for two full years to track how she is with Caribou. This collar is off next year with another barrel trap and tranquiller. I am on the fence with this. I hate the stress on the bears, but..... Right now she has her eye on a spawning Sockeye Salmon.
